MINT LEARN TO LIFT

BOOST CONFIDENCE & KNOWLEDGE IN THE GYM WEIGHTLIFTING FOR TEENS, PEACE OF MIND FOR PARENTS

Our NEW Learn to Lift programme is a structured course of 5 weekly weightlifting sessions taught and supervised by a MINT Coach and hosted at our top-level gyms in Richmond, Twickenham and Esher.

Teaching teens how to perform weightlifting techniques in a correct and safe way, each week they will master one of the key foundation weightlifting movements guided by our MINT coaching team.

 

At each session they will learn how to select and prepare the equipment and set safe loading limits for their personalised workout.

Five Weeks to Lift

All our facilities are fitted with top of the range equipment, the same as the professional athletes use

Over the five weeks they will learn how to put together personalised programmes that offer a full body workout (including warming up and mobility exercises) ensuring an emphasis on strength with technique to develop an athletic, robust body.

 

They will also be advised how to identify and adapt movements should they be carrying an injury and understand the importance of good hydration and nutrition.

  • LEARN HOW TO SAFELY PREPARE AND CLEAR DOWN EQUIPMENT

  • LEARN TO CREATE PROGRAMMES THAT MAXIMISE RESULTS & TIME IN THE GYM 

  • UNDERSTAND HOW TO AVOID INJURY AND THE VALUE OF HYDRATION, NUTRITION, WARMING UP & COOLING DOWN

Peace of Mind for Parents

All our facilities are fitted with top of the range equipment, the same as the professional athletes use

Creative coaching that breaks down and builds up movements using lightweight PVC pipes and lower weighted barbells allow the younger age groups to safely learn technique without adding significant load. 

 

We will demonstrate all aspects of equipment usage - how to load/ unload bars and pick up barbells or weights from floor level and lifting racks. Week Six of this course will be asking your child to safely follow an hour long gym program to demonstrate what they have learnt so we can be sure they are capable of continuing on confidently in their own gym environment.

Week by Week

  • WEEK 1: Squat & lower body push strength

  • WEEK 2: Deadlift & upper body pull strength

  • WEEK 3: Bench Press & upper body push strength

  • WEEK 4: Barbell Power Clean and core anti-rotation

  • WEEK 5: Let's Get Lifting Put into practice everything you've learnt and experience one of our training sessions

What Comes Next?

Once your child has completed all 5 weeks of the Learn to Lift Programme we offer two Follow On options

ONLINE PROGRAMMING

A monthly subscription that gives your child access to a two times a week workout programmed by us PLUS ongoing access to our coaches for any questions or technique advice.

 

HYBRID PROGRAMMING

Drop into any of the gyms during our Learn to Lift sessions and train following a workout programmed by us while one of our coaches keeps an eye on how things are going.

 

Or wave us goodbye in the knowledge that your child has the confidence and capability to enjoy putting their new skills to work to get strong, safely.
